This is a tool that creates a PDF document from scanned pages.
Whenever there is a need for turning paper documents into electronic version, to make it easy to store/archive, this is the kind of tool one would need to have around. To be able to find the documents from the archival stores you will need them indexed. However, the document contents are still not searchable as the content is in the form of images. There are solutions available to get around that problem, but that is a different issue. This conversion of scanned images to PDF documents is ideal for the archival solution we are discussing here. A large number of legacy documents can get converted through this tool. The PDF documents created are optimized ones. The optimization processes are provided by the program. In addition, it provides a set of security features. These include adding watermarks, setting security methods, defining properties and so on.
The disposal of the documents after creation is offered via several alternatives. These include the options of getting the document directly sent to specific people or get them uploaded into a FTP server. To make the process a self contained one, the tool also offers TWAIN compatible scanning facility so that devices like flatbed scanners and multi-feed scanners, high-speed scanners and multifunction systems with a scanning device, single side or duplex can be integrated into this legacy conversion/archiving process. The tool does support WIA devices e.g. cameras also. The simple and intuitive interface makes it very easy to use the program.
